Did the first War-Affected Children Conference in 2000 make any difference to the plight of children in war-torn countries? Are child soldiers a thing of the past? This commemorative conference will look back to evaluate advances made since the creation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. And look ahead to ask the question, "Will this be a century of peace in which the rights of the child are respected, protected, and promoted everywhere?"
