The Bank of Canada is inviting universities to nominate an individual for the Bank of Canada's Fellowship Award and Governor's Award.
Nomination Deadline: November 15, 2007
Governor's Award - to recognize outstanding academics at a relatively early stage in their careers who are working at Canadian universities in areas of research critical to the Bank's mandate: macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, as well as the economics of financial markets and institutions, including their financial stability.
Eligibility - be a Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada; have obtained a PhD within 10 years of application; be employed by a Canadian university with a program in economics or business/finance as an assistant or associate professor.
Amount - $25,000 stipend per year for a two-year, non-renewable term.
Fellowship Award - to encourage leading-edge research and to develop expertise in Canada in a number of areas critical to the Bank's mandate: macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, as well as the economics of financial markets and institutions, including their financial stability. The award provides financial support for academics recognized for their excellence and who are undertaking research that contributes to the development of knowledge and research capabilities in these fields.
Eligibility - be a Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada; be employed in a university-level teaching position; have obtained a PhD; be employed by a Canadian university during the tenure of the Fellowship.
Amount - $50,000 stipend per year; $15, 000 for research expenses per year; and $25,000 for research assistants per year for a five-year period. Applicants may apply for a second five-year term.
