Calls: 15
Issues: None

Very busy with lots of different kinds of questions.
Emailed CJ my paragraph on a library tool, I chose Ulrich's.
Also, I cannot access XLearn (it says invalid password).
I could also not access putty (it says access denied, is there a new password since the other one was specific to the fall term?).
Hope you are staying warm.
Heather

Calls: 5
Issues: none

A quiet day. Calls centred around login issues having to do with Internet Explorer. I asked clients to use Firefox, and this worked in every case.
Figured out how to upload a picture into Library News (database) entries, but my formatting needs work, I think. Worked on a new entry, Newscan.com.
Thanks.

Calls: 8
Issues: none

A fairly quiet day: some calls required fairly long bouts of help. Others left the page before I finished helping them--this is frustrating.
I had trouble figuring out how to add a screenshot to the database info. I will keep working on this.

Things were busy tonight with many questions about registration and passwords. I didn't get to writing the task, but I did some research trying to choose what I want to 'market'. Was actually quite surprised at how steady the calls were - kept me on my toes :)

Happy New Year! Today was a relatively quiet day; most questions were brief--login issues or pin removals.
I worked on L' Île, a database on Quebec authors, for the project. I've saved an unpublished version in Moveable type's Library News section.
Best,
Cathy

Project for the New Year

Hi Cathy/Heather,

I would like you to get some experience with highlighting library resources. Create a library news item (but keep it unpublished so I have a chance to look at it before we put it up), and highlight a resource (can be one of our databases or online encyclopedias). Think in marketing terms, why would someone use it, what can they find in it, etc. Play around with it and have some fun (but in a professional way ;).

Cheers,
CJ
